Sebastian is our thirteen-year-old son and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people. Nathan is now eighteen and in his first year of college in Ohio.
We were visiting my mother and she decided to take that opportunity to grill Sebastian a bit.
My mom: “So how is it being the only child, now that your brother is off at college?”
Seba: “It’s OK, I guess.”
My mom: “Huh? What does that mean? I imagine you are getting all of their attention, no?”
Seba: “Yeah, that’s just it. They are both really focused on my grades, in every class.”
My mom: “Well, that can’t be all that bad, right?”
Seba: “Let’s just say it’s not ideal.”
