Sundays Are For Nathan #15

While this space is usually used to recount the utterances of our younger son, Sebastian, today the quip is from our older boy. Nathan now 19, is 6’4″ (he claims 6’5″), a sophomore in college, and finds his parents to be extremely un-cool. Nathan just got home for winter break.

My wife was trying to discern what we might want for Christmas dinner, pondering ordering a ham, and she showed me a picture of a ham online.

My wife: “Do you like this or the other kind of ham?”

Me: “What do you mean?”

My wife: “Not spiral like this one, but the whole ham style, you know, like with cherries on the top.”

Nathan: “Do you mean like meatloaf?”

Me: “What?!? When have you had meatloaf with cherries on it?”

Nathan: “You never know. It’s a free country.”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
