This Sunday Is For Nathan Revisited (#5)

This weekend, I am once again in Cleveland, Ohio. It is the end of our older son Nathan’s second year of college and I am here to help him move out of his dorm (more or less). As I normally do when away from home, I revisit a post about one of the boys. This one comes from four years ago, during Nathan’s junior year in high school.

While this space is usually used to recount the utterances of our younger son, Sebastian, today the quip is from our older boy. Nathan is closing in rapidly on 17, is 6’4″, a junior in high school, and finds his parents to be extremely un-cool.

I had just received some new filters for my DSLR camera when Nathan walked in.

Nathan: “Why are you putting on that? It will make all the pictures you take purple?”

Me: “No it won’t, it’s a fluorescent light filter.”

Nathan: “And why are you using that camera?”

Me: “Huh?”

Nathan: “It’s so lame, it can’t even take selfies.”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
