Sundays Are For…Houston

Normally, this space is reserved for an amusing quip or action made by one of my sons (usually Sebastian) on Sunday. Today, however, I am simply providing an update.

This past Thursday evening, an extremely violent storm raged through our corner of the world and caused considerable damage in our Houston neighborhood of Spring Branch. Power lines were downed, decades-old trees snapped like chopsticks, and roofs were torn from their buildings.

As of this writing, we are still without power, but we have found a place to keep relatively cool while we wait for power to be restored. It is a little cozy here, but we are all safe and in good spirits. Thanks to everyone who has reached out, concerned for our well-being!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
