The calendar has once again turned and we find ourselves in February. For me, down here in Houston, that means that the weather is gradually getting warmer (the forecast is for temps to get close to 80°F today), basketball season is close to ending (I am a coach at my son’s high school), and that means I should be looking to ride my bike outside.
February also means “Valentine’s Day” for an alarmingly large segment of the population. Don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of expressing one’s love to another, I just don’t think it should be limited to one day out of the year. If we happen to remember what day it is, my wife and I will likely wish one another a “Happy Valentine’s Day” and then open a bottle of wine at dinner. Yeah, super romantic.
This year, however, the blessed day occurs when we will be in Fort Worth for the season-ending basketball tournament for my son’s team. Nothing says “love” more than watching a bunch of sweaty teenagers try to put a ball in a hoop.
But I digress.
For those of you who want to put a little more “oomph” in your Valentine’s Day, I offer a few suggestions in this month’s Spring Branch Plus Magazine. I also provide some insights as to why the 14th of February has lost all meaning for me. That sure sounds like fun, am I right?

Hi, Jeff!
Thanks for the nice shout-out for the Bruno Paillard Premiere Cuvee Rose! Interestingly, Alice is preparing to introduce the house’s first NPU vintage-dated rose.
With all best!
