As I mentioned earlier this week, I am in Provence for a couple of weeks and while we have been bouncing around the region a bit, there has also been plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy this beautiful place.

While I would not pretend to be “caught up” I have spent some time trying to get my various in-boxes under control. One of the emails I came across was a notification from Feedspot that they determined that I am one of the top 200 wine bloggers. They notified me several months ago that I am #31 this year (I was #17 a couple of years ago) but they did not provide the criteria or methods employed to rank the various blogs.

In yet another email, Feedspot also informed me that I am among the top 40 Champagne boggers (#18, in fact), which is the first time I have ended up on that list (I think) despite the fact that this site is not solely dedicated to one of the world’s greatest wine regions.

While it is always nice to be recognized, I take this with a grain of salt, as Feedspot blatantly states that one can improve one’s ranking with a paid subscription to their site, which would guarantee a top 12 position (which caused me to wonder: what would happen if more than 12 sites decided to pony up and pay?

Regardless, as I sit here on this glorious Provençal morning, the sun feels just a little bit brighter today. I think I will go for a ride…
