Sundays Are For Sebastian #365

Sebastian is our fifteen-year-old son and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.

Ever since the boys were able to dress themselves (so, around the age of fourteen), I would kid them about their choices. I particularly got on them when they would wear items with a mish-mash of labels. When they would wear a Nike shirt with Adidas shorts, for example, I would accuse them of “cross-dressing”.

One day a few years ago when I picked the two of them up from school…

Nathan: “Dad! What the heck?”

Me: “You are going to have to be more specific.”

Nathan: “‘Cross-dressing’? It does not mean anything close to what you say it means.’

Me: “Oh, yeah, I know.”

Sebastian: “Wait, what? What does it mean?”

Me: “You could Google it.”

Seba (after searching on his phone): “My life is a lie.”
