Wine Quiz #3

Well, last week’s quiz was a real hit, wasn’t it?  Not a single response.  Back in my teaching days, when I would give a test and everyone got the same question wrong, I knew the question was too hard.  When I gave a question that no one even attempted to answer, either they did not have enough time (clearly not the issue here), or the question was stupid.  Hmmmm.

With that in mind, I have made this question more ‘answer-able’ as I have given you several choices, one of which is correct (no doubt you are grateful for the explanation of a multiple choice test):

Approximately how many bubbles are there in a glass of champagne?

  1. 7,000
  2. 70,000
  3. 700,000
  4. 7,000,000

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

  1. P.S. How do we know what is the correct answer? Have you counted them? And is it the same at sea level where you are and at 3500 feet where we are?

  5. Last week’s question was just too hard for us here at The Thirsty Kitten. We put our tail between our legs and just gave up. This week, we didn’t know the answer, either, but we love the thought of counting champagne bubbles. Plus, we were extremely fortunate that the correct answer had already been posted by the time we got here. Thanks for the fun!

What size bottle? Doesn’t the manufacturer stuff more bubbles in a larger bottle than a smaller one.
