I need not remind you that next week is New Year’s Eve–the one night of the year when everyone is thinking about drinking a little champagne. Trying to find the right bottle to buy can be a little intimidating, so I wrote an article over on PA Vine Co. to try and help you sort things out. Go check it out and let me know what you think!
Happy New Year everyone!

Champagne should be drank weekly, period.

I agree (if not more)!

I am going out for the big bash and the deal includes a bottle of champagne (probably whatever they could get a deal on) and the ultimate safety feature, a room at the hotel where the party is.

And no doubt taking a few pictures?

I sparkle it up as often as physically possible. I am enjoying the range, not to mention the prices, of champagnes so taking full advantage while in France, I’m also partial to the Loire Valley cremants, must try more of the Alsace ones 😀

Please take advantage of it for me as well! I will have to live vicariously through you!

I definitely will! We are also planning a cycling tour through Bordeaux in a few months, very much looking forward to that 🙂

Sounds fabulous! Are you going to hit the Dordogne region! Sarlat is a must (as is Rocomadour)!

Great post, and awesome finds, too (says I, you know what I mean). We’re stocked up on a cava for New Year’s.

Yeah, so much more affordable. It was SO MUCH FUN decapitating those bottles. Someone had a machete (we’re in Alaska after all) and it worked super easily. The first attempt was exactly like the video you posted…several timid attempts, but then I got the hang of it. Thank you for inspiring me!

We drink a lot of Champagne in our house. It is our ‘House White Wine’.
And we keep a few bottles of everyday Prosecco on hand for those who haven’t acquired a taste for the good stuff yet.
Cheers & Happy New year to you!

I really think that champagne does not receive enough credit for being an everyday wine–easily the most versatile ‘style’ of wine.
