Even though we were promised by both lawyers and the judge that this would be a “very quick” trial, we are due back in the courtroom for a second day. The Cellar Tracker issue from yesterday has been remedied (I think), so if you would still like to answer yesterday’s “trivia” then by all means….

Okay, you did fix, and you have a lot of wines – but I’m missing Italy and Spain in your cellar…
Anyway, my recommendation is 1986 Inglenook (just because ) . If not, then Flowers Chardonnay – that should work perfectly after the second day in the court.

Thanks for the input! I often ask my wife to pick a wine and she looks at me as if I have two heads….

My pick is this one: 2007 Novy Family Wines Syrah Rosella’s Vineyard – why? Because I’m just a syrah fan, it sounds like it’s good drinking now, and you still have 3 bottles left 😛 🙂

The wine is great–we are big fans of Siduri/Novy–I will be getting to one of these soon!

No one has mentioned the obvious…Jura. You happen to have a bunch. How about an ’07 Château D’Arlay Côtes du Jura on today the 7th?

I think you must have been looking at the wring cellar! I do not have any Jura (excluding some Vin de paille)–but I would love to have the cellar you are describing!

Comedy! Your link sent me to that cellar. I was impressed and just a bit jealous.

2005 Villa Erbice Amarone della Valpolicella Vigneto TREMENEL, because that’s the one I would have chosen tonight (would have been lovely with my dinner, a rich pasta with cream sauce that begged for a Valpolicella for complicated reasons having to do with what I was eating, where I was, the weather and who I was with the first time I drank a V., which were all faintly replicated tonight, except for the wine).
But since you’re the one who spent a second day in the juror’s box, I think you should drink whatever you want to. Thanks for the peek into your fabulous cellar. I won’t say I’m envious (because I’m too aware of the ill effects of envy on my happiness, and life’s too short for that). Instead, put it all on your cellar and call IT enviable.

I have been wanting to pop one of those Amarones for some time now–great suggestion!

Well, for me, wine and jury service are most linked by John Mortimer’s brilliant creation Rumpole of the Bailey, whose favourite tipple was Château Thames Embankment “a rather ordinary claret of mixed origins”. The episode “Rumpole and the Blind tasting” centres on some hooky bottles of Cheval Blanc, so perhaps you should go for another St. Émilion Grand Cru, Château Laroque 2000, a top vintage which should be drinking beautifully about now. And yep – nice cellar!

Very nicely wrapped up there–I was wondering where you were going with it!
