About a year ago, I started a new weekly theme: Sundays Are For Sebastian. Sebastian is my five-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.
There are two activities that Sebastian particularly enjoys: Eating and beating his brother. On occasion they come into conflict.
The other night, we were walking back home from an evening with some friends. Sebastian wanted to race his brother and his mother back to the house. As we were running back (and slightly ahead at this point) we ran by our local pizza place. Sebastian stops dead in his tracks and says:
“Can we stop and get a slice?”
I thought about recounting the tortoise and the hare fable, but opted instead for the simple retort:
Me: “Well, if we stop, we might lose.”
Pause.
Seba: “I think I ate enough, right?”

Love the moves man.

I’d pass on winning if it involved pizza, so I can relate. 🙂 As for the moves, watch out Miley Cyrus (as the father figure groans).

He was certainly conflicted. Had we not just ate, he might have sacrificed the race!
