An update, a saber, and a challenge

I was planning on not posting today, but, well, I am leaving in a few days for a month in Europe and I need to clear a few things off the docket.

First, today, I am going to be on Wine Life Radio again! This will be my third time on the show: Keith and Kimberly do such a fantastic job so I am not quite sure why they keep having me on!wine-life-41

I will be talking about some of my favorite wines from the last few weeks, so be sure to have your pen, pencil, or iPad ready to jot down a few notes. You can access the show (which starts at 1:00 Eastern, 10:00 Pacific) here:

Second, there was another sabering yesterday, which you can check out here:

And last, I finally did the ALS Challenge after being called out by my nephew (I refer to him asa my cousin in the video). I did not really get into the rules since I figured that everybody knew them. Nonetheless, the three people I mentioned have 24 hours to douse themselves….

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

  1. Sabering with a golf club, LOL. Will try to tune in today at 1PM.

  2. Nice sabering but It’s the end of the month! When I saw you had a new entry, I was expecting an OhMyGod! Please don’t go to Europe without another installment. School starts Tuesday, I need to laugh.

  3. I wouldn’t try sabering to save my life. I’d kill myself. enjoy Europe!

  4. Gotta love the nine iron! Cheers! Enjoy your month in Europe. I will be in Valpolicella next week sippin and touring. Any chance you will be there too?

  5. I live for these sabering videos. I’m sure your wife still isn’t crazy about them (no idea why), but they’re fantastic. You could probably put it on a resume as a special skill.

I love the written commentary on the videos- and the socks of course.

  7. Enjoy your time in Europe! I’m sure you’ll have lots to write about after your travels.

  8. I would not entrust many of my known Champagne admirers to saber as demonstrated. I like my bubbly sans shrapnel. 🙂 Safe and enjoyable travels.
