Sundays Are For Sebastian—#79

Sebastian is my six-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.

Sebastian: “Hey mommy, it’s almost Thanksgiving!”

My wife: “I know! Do you know why we have Thanksgiving?”

Seba: “Yup.”
[Pause]
“To kill and eat turkeys!”

My wife: “Well, no, not exactly. It’s so that we can say what we are thankful for.”

Seba: “What’s thankful?”

My wife: “It’s when your happy that you have something–what are you thankful for?”

Seba: “You and Daddy.”

My wife: “Anything else?”

Seba: “Trees [Pause] and animals.”

My wife: “AnyONE else?”

Seba: “Other people.”

My wife: What about your brother?”

[Pause]

Seba: “He is one of the ‘other people’.”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

  2. Oh he is at that age! Going to the Dojo is great for discipline and respect. My daughter made it all the way up to Purple 2 belt before she stopped because of school, dance, piano, etc.

  3. (Nice horse stance by the way) Our son, Peter, ascended all the way to 2nd degree black belt and was an instructor in his school in the 8th grade. Go Sebastian!
