Sundays Are For Sebastian #98

Sebastian is my six-year old and he says some of the funniest things–we have no idea where he gets his material since his mother and I are rather boring, serious people.

Given this week’s “news” story about arsenic in wine, I thought this exchange from a little over a year ago (when Sebastian was five) was particularly à propos….

Both of the boys were being particularly rambunctious the other night with their mother being out of town. Despite all this, I decided to take them out to dinner. After sitting down the waitress took my drink order and asked if I wanted to get something for the boys to drink.

Me: “Water’s fine…. Unless you have some arsenic.”

After the waitress laughed and then left, Nathan asked:

“What is arsenic?”

Me: “Poison.”

[Pause.]

Sebastian: “Hey! I am allergic to poison!”
