As some of you may recall, I am out in Lodi, California with a group from Snooth.com visiting and learning about the Lodi Wine Appellations. I had hoped to have more time to tend to this blog, but that was merely wishful thinking. The trip has been incredible thus far, packed full of great people, tons of information, wonderful food, and wine. Lots of wine.
Before I can post something more substantive, here are just a few of the photos that I have taken thus far.

We were going to go there, but Mike McCay is out of town. We had his Viognier last night and it was outstanding.

I thought it was excellent. I have attended many tastings lead by Master Somms, they are always excellent. It was tough to taste, write, tweet and type on Snooth! Woo. It sounds like you all had a fab week in Lodi!

I thought it was really good, too. I told the Snooth people that it was a really good idea to have the Lodi marketing guy, Camron King, there as well. He was able to fill in with info that Kyle, the grower, could not. Camron is very good at what he does….

Sounds like a blast; I like the Gruener Veltliner from Dancing Coyote in Acampo (adjacent to Lodi), and I always have a hard time finding a good Gruener Veltliner that is not imported from Austria.

Lodi is so incredibly diverse–we have had so many different varieties (there are over 100 planted here), but interestingly, no Grüner (yet).

They are all over here in the Lodi appellation! Yesterday, we went by the Bechthold Vineyard that has 130 year old Cinsault vines!
