About Last Night: Lodi Wine Dinner

Last night was the latest wine dinner that I hosted at Fare Restaurant in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia and by all accounts, it was likely the best thus far. Five wines from the Lodi, California appellation (and one from Amador County) were paired with five imaginative courses prepared by Jonathan Alvaredo.

The next dinner is already scheduled for February 24th and the focus will be on Greek wines and cuisine.

Here are a few photos from last night:

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

Ooh, looks wonderful and delicious! I love Amador County — it’s where I discovered zinfandel.Hope you have many more — just sorry you’re so far from Nevada.
