Saturday Reminders—4/23/16

After a week of tastings up in New York, I was ready to get some riding in today. Alas, I woke to a steady rain, which means no riding—there are few items of my list of “Never Consider” but riding in the rain is definitely on it.

It may also cause both of the boys’ baseball games to be cancelled, which would be a plus, so I need to take the good with the bad, I guess.

There are a couple of announcements this week as well:

  • The voting for the Monthly Wine Writing Challenge has become rather fast and furious with two clear frontrunners at this point. Unlike some in the political primaries though, it is still anyone’s game as there are plenty within shouting distance. The voting ends at midnight here in Philadelphia (which is the same time as New York for those of you that have no clue where the Birthplace of Liberty is), so there is still time to read and vote! You can find all the details HERE.Pleasure
  • For those of you that may have missed it, there is another monthly wine writing wrap up published on Snooth.com which includes several fantastic writers from across the country. This month we each presented our case for a wine or region that was defined by a remarkable vintage.

Have a great Saturday folks!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
