Hello this week from a rather steamy Detroit, Michigan. I am actually a bit West of the Motor City, in Ann Arbor to visit with the family for a few days before heading West. I have only lived in Houston for a couple of weeks, but it has been long enough to grow somewhat accustomed to the heat and humidity down there (each and every day there has been over 95º), that I approached the bemoaning of similar temperatures here in Michigan with more than an ounce of disdain and contempt.
The next three weeks are going to be a bit of a whirlwind as I head to Oregon for a weeklong press trip tomorrow. Then I will be in Tahoe for a week with my wife’s family, and then another week in Lodi for the Wine Bloggers Conference.
I then head back to Houston in mid-August for a few days before I am off on another press trip to Northern Italy for a couple of weeks.
Yeah, it is a rough life.
Just one quick reminder this week:
- The voting for the Monthly Wine Writing Challenge closes on Monday. As of this morning, there really has been little activity, but you all have the weekend to first read the entries and then vote for your favorite!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Congratulations on the move and your upcoming press trips. See you in Lodi. La vita è bella.

I would love to have you at my winery. Since you will be in Lodi, we are not that far from there. Please be my guest and come and try our wines @ Andis Wines in Shenandoah Valley Amador County.
