Well, I survived my three-week excursion to Oregon and California, which included both the International Pinot Noir Celebration and the Wine Bloggers Conference. I am now back in Houston for a couple of weeks, trying to detox a bit before heading off to Italy a week from tomorrow.

I hope to get out on my bike today for the first time in my new state, but it looks like I will need to battle with a thunderstorm or seven to do so.

• I announced the latest Monthly Wine Writing Challenge (#MWWC27) a couple of weeks ago, with Jim of JVB Uncorked providing the theme of “Bubbles.” The deadline is still a ways off (September 12th), but we already have a couple of submissions. All the details can be found HERE.
