Saturday Reminders–10/1/16

Last week I was sitting in an airport in Houston, waiting for my flight to Frankfurt and then on to Nice, in the South of France. Now I am in an airport in the South of France (Marseille), waiting for a flight to Frankfurt, then on to Houston. This marks the end of two months of travel, and when I get back to Houston, it will be time to move into our new house. So while I won’t be flying anywhere until the middle of November, there will still be plenty to do as I need to unpack the house and then build my wine cellar.

Before I get on the plane, I thought I would throw out a couple of reminders:

  1. AList_2016_LogoAs I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, the Oregon Wine Board is once again sponsoring the Oregon Wine A-List Awards. They are looking for restaurants across the globe that have stellar representations of Oregon wines on their wine lists. Do you have any in your corner of the world? If so, you should provide the Board with all the details so they can spread the word! All the details can be found HERE.
  2. The new Monthly Wine Writing Challenge is up and running, with the new theme supplied by last month’s winner, Beth of Traveling Wine Chick fame. While there are still several weeks until the deadline, it is never too early to start writing. Interested parties can find information HERE.

That’s all I have for you from a rainy Marseille this morning. Have a great weekend everyone!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
