Saturday Reminders—11/26/16

Today is a really big day. Really big. The biggest. As many of you know I am a big college football fan and today is the day that defines my favorite team’s season. So no time for chit-chat, I am just going to give you a couple of reminders straight-up.

And then go panic until the game starts.

  1. This past week, I was once again invited to be on the We Like Drinking podcast. This time, I joined Joe Roberts as we covered all the pressing issues in the wine world today.  At least we tried to do that. OK, well, we mostly just joked around while drinking wine. So if you have a couple of hours to kill, you can check out the podcast HERE.wld1
  2. The deadline for the latest Monthly Wine Writing Challenge (#MWWC29) is a scant ten days away! Yes, time has caught up to all of us once again and you need to get your article done by December 5th. The theme was chosen by last month’s winner, John of Pairs With: Life, and while it is technically not a word, it will hopefully inspire you to string a few words together in some coherent fashion and enter this month’s contest. Said theme is “Winestory” and all of the details for entering can be found HERE.screen-shot-2016-11-07-at-10-25-49-pm

Off to do absolutely nothing! Have a Happy Saturday!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

  1. So who is the team you follow? I am a UCLA Fan and have suffered through a really disappointing season.

Go Blue! 😂. We have it on right now and Derek will be rooting for OSU right along with you- as well as our kids since he’s indoctrinated them 🙈

  3. Not that I follow sports, but I was amazed to hear that there is a college in Ohio. LOL. By the time you get back to Plymouth, they may forgive you.

    • Growing up in Plymouth, I was often mocked and derided for my choice of preferred college football team. I learned to keep my head down and my mouth shut. So while elated with this weekend’s outcome, you will never see me beating my chest or screaming from the highest mountain top. Despite the recent success my team has had against its bitter rival, I know how quickly it all could change.
