Saturday Reminders—5/13/17

I am back home this week in Houston, but I will be hitting the road again soon, this time to Portugal—I have never been, so I am fairly “stoked” (a California hipster term, which means “excited”—I am trying to appeal to more millennials today for some reason). Not much else happening in my life other than trying to get out for a longish ride today. Before I “kit-up” (a cycling term, which means to don an inordinate amount of brightly colored lycra) I thought I would leave you with a few reminders:

  • Even though the ride to Austin is over, you can still contribute! I originally had hoped to raise $500, but as of this morning, I am hovering just under $1000. If all of you give just a few bucks, it will push me into the four digits! Every dollar counts!

  • The next Monthly Wine Writing Challenge (#MWWC33) is up and running. The deadline for entry is still several weeks away, but it is never too early to get those creative juices flowing. The theme this go around, provided by last month’s winner Wining with Mel, is Once Upon a Time. All the “deets” (Millennial term for “details”) can be found HERE.
  • Last. There is still time to enter the Rodney Strong Master Blender Sweepstakes! You would certainly be remiss if you neglected to do so. The entry form is HERE and my write-up about the Sweepstakes can be found HERE.

Have a Happy Saturday!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

A hipster term? You mean it went out of style for years, maybe because I quite clearly remember using said term in the 80’s…and if I’m honest, never stopped using it haha.
