Sundays Are For Nathan #16

While this space is usually used to recount the utterances of our younger son, Sebastian, today the quip is from our older boy. Nathan now 20, who is 6’4″ (he claims 6’5″), a junior in college, and finds his parents to be extremely un-cool. Nathan is home for winter break.

It is basketball season and I coach at Sebastian’s high school where Nathan also attended and played basketball. I was naturally decked out in my coaching gear which was adorned the school’s name and logo in several areas.

Nathan: “How can I get me some of that sweet merch?”

Me: “What? You’re a junior in college, you want to wear stuff from your high school?”

Nathan: “Are you kidding? I peaked in high school.”

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
