Monthly Wine Writing Challenge–A Late Entry

I had intended to take the day off from posting today (actually, I am working on a few articles from my recent travels, and last night another glass of wine sounded a lot more rewarding then pounding out the next post), but I received an email about another entry to this month’s challenge.

My first thought: “What? The guy is four days late! What does he think this is, Middle School?”

Then I read it, which caused me to then peruse his blog and read a bit about his story.

Let’s just say it is moving.

So instead of reading some of my drivel about climbing a huge mountain or tasting through about 40 wines, take a look at his post.

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

      I am not sure it was all that thoughtful, it just seemed like it should be included, but thanks as always Stefano! Will we see another entry from you in the future?

        I will do my best to submit again, but as you may have noticed I have been pretty quiet over the last few weeks because of work. This has resulted in a huge backlog of posts that I meant to write but have not had the time to, which I hope I will be able to attend to at some point… I am waaaay behind! 😦

        I hear you! It would be great to have you enter again, but I understand completely all the external pressures we are under. If oily we did not have to work….

    Thanks for the kind comments, Jeff. I mis-read the deadline. I’ve enjoyed following the links to other participants, and found a lot of excellent writing. I really appreciate what this challenge is creating.

      Thanks for the comment Tom, and sorry about the confusion with the dates! It was great to read your piece and many have stated how they were moved by it. Hopefully, you will consider entering again–you are certainly a welcomed addition to the Challenge!
