#MWWC10 Final Reminder!

wine-stain1-3I am about to head out for a bike ride, but I thought I would send out one last reminder about Monthly Writing Challenge 10 (#MWWC10).

This month’s theme, chosen by last month’s winner, The Sybarite is:

values1

The rules

    1. The Challenge is open to anybody and everybody. It helps if you have a blog, but that is certainly not a requirement (contact me if this is the case).
    2. Write a post based on this month’s theme: “Fear”.
    3. The post should be at least tangentially related to wine (after all, it is the name of the challenge!).
    4. The post should be more or less around 1000 words (I routinely violate this rule, so it is just there as a “guide”).
    5. Include the Monthly Wine Writing Challenge badge (above) that was designed by the very first winner, The Armchair Sommelier.
    6. Here are the three ways to be sure to get your post included in the Challenge:
      1.  include a link back to this blog (thedrunkencyclist.com) or the MWWCBlog (mwwcblog.wordpress.org) in the body of your entry
      2. email me: jeff (at) thedrunkencyclist (dot) com
      3. tweet with the #MWWC10 hashtag in your tweet

The all important dates:

Deadline for submission:  Monday, June 30th, 2014

Voting Begins: Tuesday, July 1st, 2014

Voting Ends:  Monday, July 8th, 2014

Winner Announced:  Tuesday, July 9th, 2014

Thus far, it seems doubtful that we will come anywhere close to the record of 27 entries. In fact, we are in danger of having the fewest entries ever! That means we need several of you (including me) to lock yourself up with your laptop and a chilled bottle of Montrachet to bang out a few hundred words or so. Let’s go people what do you value?

Thus far, we have six entries:

Chinon & Beaujolais: Rather than love, than money, than fame, give me truth.

Confessions of a Wine Geek: My Vinous Values

Somm on the Run: The Value of Vino

The Sybarite: A Flexible Value System

 The Wine Raconteur: Value

Wine Ramblings: MWWC10 : Values, tradition and the value of change

There remains a scant ten days to get your submissions in!

So get to the keyboard and get writing!!!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.

  1. Was determined to give it a go, but despite starting out well, the beginning of the kids’ summer vacation has made sitting and writing more difficult than I thought! Maybe next month 🙂
