Yet another “normal” Saturday here for me in Philadelphia: I overslept a bit, which meant racing out to the car only to find it on top of a towing truck. It was parked in the neighborhood school’s parking lot, but the school decided that it no longer wanted to be neighborly and now tows all cars parked there past 6:45 a.m. Yes, even on Saturdays when there is nothing going on at the school (and even in the Summer when there is even less going on there). It’s hard to support the local school when they don’t support the neighborhood residents. $200 later I am here for a few reminders:
- The theme for this month’s Monthly Wine Writing Challenge (#MWWC21) was put forth by last month’s winner, Jill of L’Occasion. The deadline is only one week away, so you should be well on your way to your post using the theme “Second Chance.” All the details are HERE.

- Several people have already signed up for my next wine dinner at Fare Restaurant in Philadelphia on January 20th. This go around, the wines will all come from the Lodi Appellation in Northern California, which was recently named Wine Enthusiast’s Wine Region of the Year. Once again, there will be five courses, each paired with its own wine. The cost for the dinner is $75 (plus tax and tip, so $96 total) but space is limited this go around to 20 people, and there are just a couple of spots left, so call now to make a reservation: (267) 639-3063.

- As some of you may recall, I am a Spinning Instructor and once the weather changes to Fall, I start conducting wine tastings following a Friday evening class (the owner of the gym where I teach Spinning classes does not believe that people drink wine in the Summer). Well, the next of those such events is scheduled for January 22nd at 7:00. So if you are in Philadelphia and would like to partake, drop me an email (jeff(at)thedrunkencyclist(dot)com). But do it quickly! There are only a few spots left!

Have a great Saturday folks!

Sorry about the ticket. That is really horrible. Why tow if it doesn’t effect them?!

Yeah, the school has allowed its neighbors to park there for ever, until this Spring. Now they tow everyone who does. Parking is really tight in our neighborhood and it was nice to have it as an option. Not anymore….

Oh, an unpleasant reminder of many parking tickets past…I shall appreciate my garage just a little bit more today, on your behalf.

That will be a definite advantage once we get to Houston….

Dang, bummer about the ticket! It sounds like your food fare events and spinning classes are a success!

Yeah, the towing charge stinks. Had we been there five minutes earlier….
