It is my last couple of days here in Italy. I am in Verona for the next two days but I will not be doing much sight-seeing (or even visiting wineries–OK, maybe one…) as I will be trying to get some work done, assuming the internet connection is any good (which has not been a given thus far in Italy).

Apparently, it is good luck to fondle the breasts of Juliette’s statue here in Verona. I figured I was lucky enough already….
I have a couple of reminders for you today, however.
- The
deadline for this month’s Monthly Wine Writing Challenge is almost upon us (it is Monday 9/12)! I am hoping to get an article together over the next couple of days, but if I don’t, I have an excuse: I have been in freaking Italy for two weeks with no reliable internet connection! What is your excuse? Huh? Well? Get writing! Jim of JVB Uncorked provided the theme of “Bubbles” something all of you can appreciate (if not, we will never be friends). Again, the deadline is Monday September 12th, we already have a few submissions (how many? I have no idea–have I mentioned the spotty internet connections over here?), but we still need yours! What are you waiting for? All the details can be found HERE.
As I mentioned on Tuesday (I think), the Oregon Wine is once again sponsoring the Oregon Wine A-List Awards. They are looking for restaurants across the globe that have stellar representations of Oregon wines on their wine lists. Do you have any in your corner of the world? If so, you should provide the Board with all the details so they can spread the word! All the details can be found HERE.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Thanks for sharing. You too have a wonderful weekend in Italy!
