I am sitting in Paris, having made a rather arduous journey over the last 14 hours or so. I took one cab, one 6 hour flight and six different trains.
That is not an exaggeration.
Six trains.
The last train ended at the Gare du Nord in Paris. I was due to take another (seventh) train from there (the métro) but it is a lovely day in Paris and I decided to walk the last couple kilometers of the trip.
Before I go off and buy a bottle of wine to suck down while watching the Tour de France, I thought I should give an update on the monthly challenge. Thus far, the following have submitted a post for the challenge:
While five six seven eight nine is certainly a good start, a few more of you vowed to submit a post! Get cracking! You have one more week to submit. Once you do, either add a comment or send me an email and I will be sure to get it on the list.
Have a great trip, Jeff!!

Six trains. You don’t have to fly to Norway to save money getting to Paris. They have direct flights you know. 😉
Bon voyage!

Four fabulous bottles of champagne last night with great friends, a stellar blue sky this morning as I savored my first “real” croissant in what feels like ages. Paris at its best….

Good to see the maillot jaune on the back of a non-time-trialer this edition of the TdF. Wish I was there. A number of my kiwi riding buddies are over there now, with bikes to ride the famous climbs! Enjoy!

Yeah, without a prologue or an early ITT, sure has a different feel to it this year!
