This past Wednesday, the boys and I left Philly for good after first stopping at our favorite breakfast stop, then the Liberty Bell and Independence Mall, and finally one last cheesesteak at Pat’s King of Steaks (perhaps too late, but Sebastian finally realized that a plain steak was not the way to go).
We are now in North Carolina, along the Blue Ridge Parkway, hoping to make it to al least Atlanta today, on our way to Houston. The plan is to get to New Orleans tomorrow and make it to Houston on Monday evening.
At least that is the plan.
We are about to head off and do some gem mining, then a hike, and hopefully finish driving the Blue Ridge Parkway at some point in the early afternoon, but I thought I would pass along one reminder on this fine Saturday–the first in a long time that I am not officially a resident of any state:
- The deadline for submission for the Monthly Wine Writing Challenge is July 18th, with this month’s theme being Solitude. All the details can be found HERE.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Enjoy your time in my home state of North Carolina! 🙂

I always liked that part of moving- seeing different parts of the U.S. on our way from our old home to our new home.
