Saturday Reminders—1/28/17

This past week I was in Sacramento for the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium, which is the largest trade conference for the wine industry. While most of the content and exhibits did not pertain to me (as far as I could tell, I was the only blogger there), it was fascinating. And then there were the parties. Yikes. I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend with the family, but I return to a couple of days of shuttling my boys around. I am running off to a baseball clinic for the younger, followed immediately by a basketball game for the elder. Then, a trip to our homebuilder’s office to discuss a new house to be built: for my in-laws who will be moving to our neighborhood this fall.

Before I dive in to my weekend, here are this week’s reminders:

  1. Voting has begun on this month’s Monthly Wine Writing Challenge, but there are still a few days to read the posts and cast your vote. All the information can be found HERE.

  2. Yes, I am back in Houston this week as the city is in full Super Bowl mode (Super Bowl LI will be here next Sunday). In anticipation of the event, however, I am flying off to New York that morning. If you will also be in New York for “Italian Week” it would be great to meet up!

Have a Happy (and hopefully dry) Saturday!

About the drunken cyclist

I have been an occasional cycling tour guide in Europe for the past 20 years, visiting most of the wine regions of France. Through this "job" I developed a love for wine and the stories that often accompany the pulling of a cork. I live in Houston with my lovely wife and two wonderful sons.
